W+D Upgrade Cross Scoring

To improve the quality of your envelopes we will change the position of the Cross Scoring section, and provide the Cross Scoring section with the latest Mitsubishi servo technology and synchronize the encoder to the knife format.

The original W+D (Winkler + Dünnebier) 102 Cross Scoring section is places between the format knives and the separating knives. When the cross-score blade comes into contact with the counter roller this causes a jolt to the web tension, which in turn causes a jolt through the gear drive system and as a result of this movement you will get either holes in the corners of the envelope and/or ‘ears’ on the separation cut.

The position and design of the Cross Scoring section does not allow the machine adjusters to easily set the scoring shaft pressures to give a good quality envelope at higher speeds.

To avoid those problems the Technomatic Cross Scoring unit is placed between the printing section and the window cutting section and will also significantly improve the quality of your products.

You’ll be able to increase your production with less downtime and more constant production runs.

Due to the reduction of quality variations you’ll achieved the quality specifications of your costumers.

Disassemble the current Cross Scoring section
Install the Technomatic Cross Scoring unit driven by Mitsubishi Servo-motors and encoder, between the printing section and the window cutting section of the W+D 102.
Synchronize encoder with format knives.
Install a touchscreen control panel.

The Technomatic Cross Scoring section is prepared and tested at Technomatic before shipping and installation at the customer.

The installation can then be planned in agreement with the customer.

To avoid production interuption, if possible, the installation can be done over the weekend.
